Musicals

One...two...a...one, two, three! JAZZ HANDS!

America invented the musical, so if you hate them, that’s one more thing you can blame on America. Pulling from the vaudeville shows, minstrel halls, entr’acts, operas, and everything in-between, pitted Gilbert and Sullivan (British) against Harrigan and Hart (American) for the musical showdown. G&S were more on the operatic side, while H&H appealed more to the baudy masses. None of the musicals here will be on par with anything they did, though they may be based on their work. Standing on the shoulders of giants and all that.

Knockers as the stepmother and stepsisters, as well as a young Sy Richardson, it was a glorious musical fun-fest of sleaze and cheese.
